Men and the Beauty Industry: Manjections

The beauty industry has made leaps and bounds since it catapulted into the annals of contemporary society and popular culture. Gone are the days where makeup and beautification trends are a field reserved for women—men have claimed their spot in the beauty scene and we love it. Glamorous men are all over social media these days. Jeffree Star. James Charles. Manny Gutierrez (a.k.a. Manny MUA). Bretman Rock. Patrick Simondac (a.k.a. Patrick Starrr). Gabriel Zamora. They're the biggest names in the online beauty sphere and if you think men in makeup is only a phenomenon happening in the western hemisphere, think again. Men in South Korea and China are helping the fuel of the cosmetics industry, having made makeup an integral part in many of their lives. It's safe to say that men have contributed their fair share in beauty product consumption, regardless of wherever they are on the map. The concept of beautification and makeup usage is slowly heading towards a ubiquitous route because it seems as though makeup is now being made either for men, men and women, or everyone in between. If the makeup industry is becoming genderless, or at the very least, highly inclusive, does that apply to other aspects of the beauty industry, too? A case can be made for a resounding "yes". In the same vein where the taboo of men wearing makeup is fading, so is the case for men undergoing cosmetic surgery. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), in 2015, men had more than 1.2 million cosmetic surgical procedures performed, taking up 9.5% of the total. It may seem like a small number, but it's a giant stride since the late 1990s, and ultimately proves that the messages of beautification reach past one gender. Regardless of gender, we know that there are plenty of people out there who want to strengthen their features, hide their wrinkles and smoothen their skin. We positively don't discriminate! Lip Fillers – Lip augmentation is the perfect solution to plump, add symmetry and define your lips. Giving you the benefit of having control over your preferred shape, structure, and volume, you can fine-tune your lips to look as natural as you'd like, while still having that full, well-bodied aesthetic.

Non-Surgical Nose Job – Hyaluronic acid fillers are used to fill out and sharpen the form and structure of your nose to your desired look. These fillers can be used to straighten the nose bridge or refine the tip to achieve a smoother-looking plane.

Jaw and Chin Fillers – Non-surgical chin and jaw augmentation can add more symmetry to your face and can enhance your look at every angle. Depending on your preference, you can strengthen the appearance of your chin or further chisel the sharpness of your jawline to increase the overall definition of your facial structure.

Cheek Fillers – If you want your cheekbones to appear more prominent and model-esque with minimal fuss, non-surgical cheek augmentation is for you. By using dermal fillers, flat cheekbones can instantly become more sculpted and refined. Anti-Wrinkle Injections – Anti-wrinkle injectables aren't a new concept for most people and their efficacy has been proven time and time again. This treatment uses Botox for the procedure and is often done to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles along the face, such as forehead lines, frown lines, vertical lip lines, and crow's feet.

Vanity Fair Beauty in Tunbridge Wells works in collaboration with Kanvas Cosmetics to offer our clients these treatments. For more information please visit our treatments page.
